Bloc of Goose Foie Gras.
The goose foie gras bloc is a gourmet selection product made by the artisan company Katealde Artesanos S.L. from Navarre, dedicated for years to the breeding of ducks and the production of high quality duck and goose foie gras.
Foie gras is the fatty liver of geese, ducks or geese. It arises from the abundant feeding of these birds until their livers are as large as possible. Foie gras is likely to weigh between 700 g and 1 kg and has a pinkish-yellowish colour and a firm consistency. This type of food is enjoyed in gastronomy both as an appetizer to spread on cold bread, or hot to accompany other dishes, mainly as a contrast to meats.
It should also be noted that foie gras bloc is not the same as pâté, as there are notable differences between the two. Their main difference is the preparation of each of them, as they are different. Also, foie gras is presented as a block with a firm consistency and pâté as a liver paste.
