Description
China Mao Feng Hua Hai Bio – Oddities organic tea 50g
This green tea from the Zhejiang region has only been
cultivated since the end of the 19th century, but that has nothing to minimise its popularity. The name Mao Feng means ‘hairy tips’ and comes from the
particularly narrow, rich green leaves that look like tiny spearheads.
A legend says that over 4,700 years ago, the Chinese Emperor Shen Nung was standing in his garden with a drinking bowl of hot water as the wind swirled up the leaves of a wild, growing tea bush. Three of these leaves fell into his drinking bowl and the Emperor sensed a pleasing fragrance. Sipping the water, he soon felt refreshed and focused. Green tea had been discovered.
Various roasting and steaming methods were developed to keep the leaves long-lasting.
